is a small town in the province of Ifugao Philippines, where you can find the 2,000 year old Batad Rice Terraces and the Banga-an Rice Terraces that are today part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. These two clusters of rice terraces are often referred to by many locals and some tourist as the "Eighth Wonder of the World" due to the enormous size, they are so large that if you were to place them end-to-end they could wrap half way around the globe.
Contrary to what you may read the Banaue Rice Terraces
are not part of the UNESCO inscription, the reason for this is that over the past few years many modern structures have been added, therefore this eliminates them, however they are still considered to be national cultural treasures of the Ifugao Rice Terraces.
The Banga-an Village Rice Terraces can be seen pictured here to the left, and are a very popular tourist attraction.
